Laundry detergent for sensitive skin can be pricey. And, most of the time it doesn’t quite do it’s job of getting clothing thoroughly clean in my opinion. I’ve experimented with a few different combos of DIY laundry detergent and have finally come up with a great combo that actually works and does’t irritate those of us with sensitive skin! Here’s my easy peasy recipe for Homemade Laundry Detergent for Sensitive Skin. What’s even more awesome? You can whip this up in no-time with three, yes ONLY THREE ingredients and it will last you a good long while before you need to restock your supply. Better yet, this recipe costs a fraction of the price of other laundry detergents boasting use for sensitive skin.
Here are all the tools you will need… Ingredients (listed below), a measuring cup, grater and container to store you detergent in.
Only three ingredients needed: Arm and Hammer Washing Soda (found in the laundry aisle at many stores), 2 lb box of Baking Soda, and 2 bars of Soap – I prefer using OneOne7 by Iron Lion Soap because it’s made with a combination of essential oils that have been proven to have antibacterial properties.
Combine 6 cups Washing Soda, Entire 2 lb box of Baking soda, and grated soap. Enlist a 3 year old to help stir, and you’re done! Store in a cool, dry place and use in place of your regular detergent. Use 1/4 of a scoop for small loads and 1/2 scoop for large and super large loads. For HE front load washers, simply toss in the drum.
