Yummy Vanilla Mint Lip Balm

Here’s a lovely recipe to make your own deliciously scrumptious (and cost effective I might add) lip balm. Give it away as gifts for the holidays or keep some for yourself!

What you’ll need:

8 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
3 Tablespoons Beeswax
1.5 Tablespoons Pure Vanilla Extract
10 drops Peppermint essential oil

Directions:

Place beeswax in a double boiler (if you don’t have a double boiler – use a heatproof bowl resting on top of a small saucepan of simmering water). Heat gently until beeswax starts to melt. Add in coconut oil and mix gently together. Once everything has melted, remove mixture from heat. Add peppermint oil and vanilla extract. Stir until blended.

Pour mixture into a glass measuring cup (I found this to be a less messy way of getting mixture into tins!) From the measuring cup pour the mix into containers (fills approximately one dozen 1/2 oz tins).

Let sit on counter to cool, then place lids on when the consistency looks like lip balm! Voila! A fun and fuss-free gift or treat for yourself! These are great for stocking stuffers or to hand out to friends and teachers.
