I used to get stumped on a weekly basis when it came to coming up with our weekly menu. That is, until I came up with a fun formula that helps me keep track of what to cook. Of course, things come up and we may switch up a meal here and there, but overall, it really helps when it comes to meal planning.

So what’s this magical formula, you ask? It’s simple…
I try to make a weekly menu based on these fun sayings… Soup + Salad Sunday
• Soup + Salad Sunday
• Meaty Monday
• Taco Tuesday
• One Pot Wednesday
• Throw it Together Thursday
• Fajita Friday
• Sheetpan Saturday

• Soup + Salad Sunday – choose from a variety of soups, salads, pasta salads sometimes we switch it up and do soups + sandwiches like my daughter’s favorite, grilled cheese and tomato soup…
- Dumpling / wonton
- Chicken + gnocchi
- Chicken noodle
- Zuppa Toscana
- Albondigas
- Tortellini
- Egg drop

• Meaty Monday – per my dietary needs, I try to stick to eating beef once a week… Here are some of the faves I rotate through…
- Meatloaf
- Sloppy Joe’s
- Smash burgers
- Spaghetti + meatballs
- Stuffed tomatoes or peppers
- Deconstructed cottage pie
- Steaks + veggies
- Beef stroganoff
- Meatball subs
- Beef stew
- Pot roast

• Taco Tuesday – pretty self-explanatory here…
- Crunchy or soft tacos
- Rolled tacos
- Taco salad
- Fish tacos
- Tostadas

Mac n Cheese

• One Pot Wednesday – basically any meal you can throw in a pot on the stove and cook or in a crockpot in the morning and have dinner ready by evening…
- Roast chicken and veggies
- Chicken Parmigiana
- Heaveny mac ‘n cheese
- Stacked enchiladas
- Thai yellow curry
- Crockpot BBQ chicken
- Crockpot garlic lemon chicken
- Broccoli cheddar chicken casserole
- Deconstructed cottage pie
- Easy chicken pot pie casserole

• Throw it together Thursday – by Thursday we typically have some sort of leftovers, so it’s either reheat eat them as-is, or throw together something new with what we have on hand…
- Fried rice
- Chicken wraps
- BBQ chicken sammies
- BBQ chicken or brisket loaded baked potatoes
- Turkey or chicken pot pie
- Cheddar broccoli, chicken and rice casserole

• Fajita Friday – again, pretty self-explanatory, take your pick of chicken or beef fajitas, have all your fixin’s together so everyone can assemble their fajitas as they like. Our family enjoys cheese, a variety of salsas and especially guacamole.

• Sheetpan Saturday – simply put, whatever combination of meats + veggies that can all go in the oven together on a sheetpan making clean up a breeze…
• Chicken + veggies
• Sausage + veggies
• Lemon salmon + broccoli
• Cheeseburger flatbreads
• Individual meatloaves + veggies
