I’ve always loved classic red ornaments, cozy fabrics, and layering textures for the Christmas season.

Over the years I’ve collected vintage ornaments from second-hand shops that carried some sort of meaning to myself or my family members. Bunching ornaments with zip-ties or twisty-ties like shown below makes it so much easier to decorate.

For the Ralph Lauren aesthetic I’ve incorporated rich colors like deep reds and blues, plus nostalgic elements including my yearly photo of my kids throughout the years.

I’ve mixed in forest animals along with green and navy, classic plaids, and ornaments that have natural materials like leather and wood.

Metallic accents like brass toned bells give it a polished finish. To complete the look, I’ve added velvet ribbons that I tied into bows.

Around the house I’ve incorporated wooden tree decor, bark-wrapped candles, plaid blankets and flocked deer.

Along the staircase where I hang our stockings I’ve incorporated plaid wired ribbon along with greenery. I found these large red bows that make such a statement.

I hope this inspires you to create a Christmas layered with deep tones, warm textures and nostalgia like I’ve tried to construct.
