Immune Supporting Fruit Smoothie

DSCN0803The pollen is spreading, the sneezes are happening.  It’s that time of year where we are more susceptible because of the changing weather and fresh pollen floating all around us. Support your immune system by adding a couple drops of Young Living’s Citrus Fresh Essential Oil to your fruit smoothie!  Today I made a delicious batch my kids and I gulped up in no time.  I also added a heaping spoonful of coconut oil and a good amount of red cabbage.  Did you know that red cabbage contains several supportive properties, including lupeol, sinigrin & sulforaphane, which may help trigger enzyme defenses? Due to its high amount of Vitamin C, cabbage helps strengthen the immune system & helps the body fight against free radicals. Red cabbage contains vitamin K & anthocyanin, an antioxidant. Ingredients to make a 4 cup serving:

  • 1/2 cup organic red cabbage
  • 2 cups organic frozen fruit (I used a blend of peach, mango and strawberry)
  • 1/4 cup organic flaxseed
  • 1 heaping spoonful organic coconut oil
  • 4-6 tbs. raw organic honey (local if you can get it)
  • 1 cup organic vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup alkalized water
  • 2-3 drops Young Living Citrus Fresh Essential Oil

Put everything in a blender and mix up on high or until red cabbage is very fine in texture.  Enjoy!
